Easter 2014

The Saturday before Easter was a beautiful day. With the sun shining I decided that we would die our eggs on the patio. The eggs dried faster, and if the kids spilled the colors, it was an easy clean up. They all had fun creating vibrant colored eggs. Instead of using the store bought packets this year we used vinegar and food coloring. Each of the kids got to pick the colors we did. It was fun to watch Barrett stir his eggs in the cups. He is becoming so independant! After our eggs were done, it was back to the sewing machine for me. Per tradition, I made both of the girls their dresses and made a tie for Barrett. I loved the colors the girls chose this year. But after several late nights, I was such glad to be done with them. (Note to self, don't wait until the week before Easter to make everything).

The Easter bunny spoiled the kids this year with season passes to North Shore swimming pool. They also got bubbles and water toys. Let's hope this gift will reduce some of the summer boredom this year.

After attending church on Sunday, we had a fun afternoon with cousins at Grandma Call's house. A game of kickball had us all laughing and out of breath. I'm so grateful for Easter and the reminder it is to all of us of our Savior. His life, death and resurrection makes it possible for us to be together forever as a family! It also will allow us to see our loved ones that gave passed away again. We hope that all our family and friends had a wonderful Easter holiday.
