Vitamin D

This past weekend we enjoyed some much needed vitamin D and family time. Friday early afternoon, we checked Savanna out of school a couple hours early (because she is such a great student) to head down to St George. We are grateful and blessed that Aunt Audrey let us stay at Grandma and Grandpa Meyers' house. Steve had to make a couple of stops in Nephi and Delta for work, but it was worth the stops to have a little vacation.  The kids were super excited to be going on a trip. Paige had been counting down for days. As we rolled into town we stoped at chick-fil-a doe dinner, then Nielsen's frozen custard for dessert. Yummy is all the kids could say. Saturday was full of fun adventures, after breakfast we headed to Snow Canyon State Park. We hiked a fun short trail to Jenny's Canyon. These drove through the rest of the park, stopping to see so e rock climbers, then the kids wanted to go play in the sand dunes. The sand was warm as we all took out shoes off to play. Barrett was in heaven, Steve and I took turns chasing the girls up and down the dunes.  It was quite the work out, but fun none the less. After playing for a while, we dusted off and loaded back into the Durango. Savanna wanted to go shopping at the mall. Barnes and Noble, Claire's were the two main locations we shopped. Savanna found a really cute necklace she is going to give her best friend this next week for her birthday. With all the running and hiking we did the kids were hungry so we grabbed a bite to eat then went back to the house changed into our swimsuits and headed for the pool. I personally was loving the sunshine, I didn't even need to get into the water to be happy. But my kids didn't like that so I climbed into the chilly water to play and laugh with the kids. When asking Paige what her favorite activity of our day was she proclaimed "all of it mommy!" She then proceeded to tell Steve and I that we are the "best, best, best, best, best, best, best, best, best parents ever! (I may have missed a few "best", but you get the idea.  Today we cleaned up the house, found Steve a new location to shoot his guns the next time we are in town and headed home. It was a short trip, but one that we all definitely needed to get over the winter blues.
