Christmas (long over due)

I know that this post is long over due but I've been purposely waiting to make it.  We had a wonderful Christmas this year at our house.  Christmas Eve was spent with Pa and Marrilyn at their home.  They prepared a very nice meal and the girls enjoyed getting to spend time with them as well.  We all got spoiled by their gifts.  After opening gifts and the girls getting in their new jammies it was time to head home to get our cookies out for Santa.  Once we arrived home the girls threw out the food for the reindeer and put cookies on Santa's plate then they both went to bed.

Christmas morning the girls did really well and not getting up too early which was nice for this momma.  Savanna came into our room to wake us up and we told her she needed to double check and make sure Santa came before we would get out of bed.  She ran to the top of the stairs and came running back "he's been here".  So we woke up Paige and headed down to the living room to see what was left under the tree.  The girls were surprised with new scooters, clothes, Savanna got a new ds game and watch.  Paige got a new baby doll and slippers so that she can stop wearing all of ours.  Both girls gave each other a new book and then it was time for mom and dad to see what we got.  Santa's elves worked super hard and brought me a new bookshelf.  Daddy got a new radio that he can take with him to work.

After getting ready for the day we headed off to Salt Lake to Grandma Mary's house.  We ate a yummy brunch consisting of french toast, bacon, sausage, fruit and juice.  Then that is when the caos began.  When you have 6 kids under the age of 9 eager to open presents their is nothing but caos.  We were again spoiled by all the gifts that we received.  But I think I had the most fun watching Ambur, Gramma and Bec open their aprons that I made for them this year.  After the kids played for a bit we loaded up the durango and headed back up to our house.

Once we got home we unloaded and I went in to make the dips that I was to take to my mom's house for the evening.  We then loaded up the car with the items to go to Grandma Call's house.  When we arrived Aunt Celeste, Uncle Rhees, Aunt Carol, Uncle Andy and cousin Kendru were there with Grandma.  We sat and chatted while the girls told them everything that they had gotten from the day.  Then it was time to open presents from Grandma.  We had already had a party earlier in the month to open gifts with cousins.  Savanna got a new cd player for her room and Paige got a doll house for her room.  Then we munched on all the yummy treats that we had and sat around a played games.  Steve and I had received a fun cup game from Curtis and Kamy, it had us all laughing as we played it.  The best was when Steve donned a tutu to complete one of his tasks.  To bad I forgot to take out the camera for that one.  It was a fun night spent with family laughing and talking.

Here I am talking about all the gifts that we received but really not mentioning the gifts that we gave this year. Well maybe these last couple of pictures will give you a hint of the BEST gift we gave this year to our families.

These are two very excited faces of grandma's getting the news that another little bundle of joy will be joining our family the beginning of July.  Needless to say we had a very wonderful Christmas here in the Meyers home.  We are excited for what the next year will bring our way.
