Dad's Tree

This year my  mom decided that the Christmas tree that is in her basement would decorated by the grandkids in memory of my dad.  Each of the kids wrote cute little notes to grandpa, drew pictures or created paper chains.  Kamy had taken pictures of all of the family members throughout the summer and we each created our own photo ornament that was also placed on the tree.  Celeste had created word strips that described dad to a tee, they too were placed throughout the tree.  The tree is topped with the Christmas hat that dad would wear every year all day long on Christmas.  I actually think that this was the only day of the year that dad really didn't comb his hair because the hat never came off.  Part of the tree skirt is the sweatshirt that he also would only wear on Christmas day.  This Christmas will be hard without dad at home, but at least we have the wonderful memories of Christmas' past to help us get through it.

We wish each of you a very Merry Christmas!
