An Early Spring Break

This past Thursday, Friday and tomorrow have been spring break for Savanna.  However with all the snow that we've gotten I'm glad that we took advantage of the opportunity to head to St. George with Steve the first weekend in April.  Hence our early spring break!  The weather was nice and 80+ degrees and it got us away from the cooler weather at home for a couple of days.  We headed down on Friday April 1st after Savanna got out of school.  The girls loved watching movies and playing with each other in the back seat while Steve was a nice daddy and put headphones on to listen to his music while driving.  I sat next to him and crocheted till my fingers couldn't take anymore.  I've been trying to get a blanket/burpcloth set done for my neighbor and figured the time in the car would allow me just that.  Steve had to do a little work along the way so we made our first stop in Richfield at the big orange store (aka the Home Depot).  The girls were glad to get out and stretch their little legs and get balloons from the workers.  Then back in the car we got and headed to St. George.  We arrived at our hotel around 10:30pm because the lovely traffic we hit in SLC.  Savanna was a little sad that she couldn't jump on our beds before heading off to sleepy time.  Don't worry she and Paige made up for it on Saturday morning.  Steve had to go check on a couple more of his stores so the girls and I hung out in our room for a while before hitting the pool.  Oh how we loved the opportunity to be outside!  We swam for an hour or so before heading back to get ready for the rest of the day.  Steve came back about lunch time and we headed off for the rest of our adventures.  We took the opportunity to go and visit the graves of Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Meyers.  After we headed to the park to play in the sunshine the girls loved the slides.  Paige would say "beeeeeeee" as she was going down them.  It was so cute to hear and see the smile that went along with it.  After playing we decided to do go do a little shopping at the outlets.  Then it was back to the hotel for nap time and more swimming for Savanna.  That girl would live in the pool if we let her, she is looking forward to swim lessons again this summer.  The fun of the day wore both girls out and Savanna decided to cash out while we were at dinner, do we had to get the rest of our meals to go.  But wouldn't you know it, she woke up just as we were pulling into the hotel and I'll give you one guess of what she wanted to do....more swimming.  Sunday morning we loaded up and headed home after a quick stop in Cedar City at the big orange store, we hit the road and got to listen to General Conference the rest of the way home.  It was a fun, relaxing weekend and it gave us a little taste of what we can look forward too once mother nature makes up her mind and gives us our spring/summer.
