What a fun week we have had as a little family. On Monday, we ran to the store with Steve so he could pick up a few things that he needed for work. As we were walking in, we saw a life size poster of Carlos Boozer from the Utah Jazz. He is Savanna's favorite player in the NBA. We saw that he was going to be making a special appearance at the store later that night. We thought it would be fun for Savanna to get to meet him, so we told her that later we'd come back so she could see "Go Boozer" as she calls him. She was very excited, and had to tell everyone in the family who she was going to be seeing. After leaving the store we ran by our storage unit for Steve to pick up some more clothes, and as we were leaving we drove by a gas station that had petro at $2.99 a gallon. We had to stop and fill up, I never thought we'd see gas below $3.00 again. I am sure it won't last for long, but if it save a little more in the pocket, it is worth it. During the afternoon, Aunt Celeste came over to work on her Halloween costume with Grandma Call. It is going to be super cute on her. Later in the evening, Savanna, Grandpa Call and I headed over to the store to see Boozer. We waited in line for what seemed like an eternity, but was really only like a half hour before he appeared from around a van. He got as close as 15 feet to us, so we snapped some pictures. We stayed at our place in line, because he was going to be signing autographs. Well, I left the store with a very disappointed daughter. He had to leave before we got up to him. I think the only comfort that she got was that we had a few pictures of him. We'll have to get to a Jazz game for her so that she can try to see him again.
On Tuesday, Steve, Savanna and I loaded up in the car and headed to St. George. Steve was needing to do some work down there in that territory, and we thought it would be a great opportunity for us to see his Grandparents as well. We stopped in Cedar City for Steve to do a store walk at the Home Depot and then we were on to our final destination. It was wonderful to get to see Grandma and Grandpa. Savanna hasn't seen them since she was 18 months old, so you can imagine the surprise of how big she has gotten to them. It was a nice evening visit and as we were driving Grandma back to her house after dinner, Savanna saw the St. George temple and wanted to go see it. What a great idea she had, we loved walking around the temple grounds and going in the visitor center. It was a great teaching moment, and one I don't think she will ever forget. She now asks us at every temple she sees, "who got married in that temple?" Some we can give her an answer, others, we just say "someone we don't know did." I love her innocense and her eagorness to learn about the gospel. To me that is what is meant when we are told to "become as a little child" in the scriptures. If we could all be as eagor to learn the gospel truths. Wednesday we headed back home and made a few more stops along the way. Savanna's favorite stop was getting to go out to eat with her cousins for Uncle Rick's birthday and then to the pumpkin patch to get a couple pumpkins for the porch. It was a fast trip, but it was a great one in my eyes.
