West Desert

Yesterday we loaded up the 4 wheelers, the family and headed out to the west desert for the night.  Aunt Celeste and Uncle Rhees joined us in our adventure.  Steve has been wanting to go out camping for the past few weeks, so with the weather being perfect it was the best time to go.  Once we got to our destination the girls helped Steve set up our tent, while Celeste and Rhees got theirs set up.  Then we got the rest of camp set up and the fun began.  Steve pulled out his guns and clay pigeons.  Savanna was pretty excited to see him in action and even tried her hand at throwing the pigeons in the sky.  Steve then let Savanna take a turn with her Great Grandma Meyers .22.  For her first time ever holding a gun yet alone shooting one she did really good.  She hit the target a few times and fell in love with this activity.  Aunt Celeste and I even got our hands on the guns as well.  Steve has never seen me shoot a gun, even though I have told him I have done it before.  We took a break while the guys took the two little ones out on the wheelers for a ride.  Then it was back to the guns for a little bit.  As the sun started to set we decided it was time for a campfire.  The girls love to roast marshmallows and eat s'mores.  Around 9:30 it was time the girls to head to bed so the adults could sit and chat.  The guys took the wheelers out one more time to try to find some bunnies to blast, but they didn't see any.  It was 12:30 before this mom was in bed on the air mattress.  But once again our lovely Savanna was up at 6:50 ready to start her day.  I was able to convince her to lay back down for a little bit, which was heaven for me.  Around 8:30 we started to work on breakfast and then it was again time for the guns to be brought out for the last time of the day.  A couple more times on the 4 wheelers and it was time to pack up and head for home.  It was a nice relaxing time to enjoy the great outdoors.  I know that I loved getting to soak up the vitamin D.  Thanks Celeste and Rhees for joining us for the night.
